FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
REGISTRATION
Do you hold an open day for children to give Athletics a go?
No, this is something that we used to do however due to the higher number of children wanting to take part in athletics we no longer run an open day.
Can I register my child and then if they don't like it can I get a refund and the spot can be available for someone else?
No, we do not give refunds if you or your child changes their mind. Once you have registered you have the right to attend all season. We advise that if your child decides they no longer want to take part, give them a break for a couple of weeks and then come back again for another go.
My child has a birthday during the season, what age group will they be in?
Your child will be in the age group for the age they will be at the 31 December that year. Example: Sally is currently 4 years old and has a birthday (turning 5) on 4th January. Sally will be in the 4 years age group.
CLUB NIGHTS
My child is aged 3-6, can I leave them with you and watch from the stands / go for a walk?
Our Club Nights are run with the help of dedicated volunteers, and this is especially important for our junior athletes. Parental supervision is essential for this age group, and we kindly ask that parents assist our coaches where possible. We encourage parents to stay engaged during each rotation, offering support in ensuring that the children remain focused and that everyone has an enjoyable experience.
Do you need my help to run club nights?
Yes please, we welcome any parental support that can be offered - this is especially important when we are holding our recording nights. We will ask those parents that are supporting their children from the grandstand when we need help - so don't be shy! Here are other ways you can help.
What will my child be doing at Club Nights?
All information relating to how we run our Club Nights can be found here.
Can my child only attend the Development Squad night?
The Development Squad is for those children aged 10+ and are an add-on to Club Nights. It is recommended that all children attend Club Night as the first priority. The expectation for children that attend Development Squad is that they are training for external competitions like Ribbon Days, Colgate Games, Children Champs, Interschools etc.
